Don't you just hate it when you are on a roll and quilting is going well then the machine coughs and sputters and you try to figure out why the thread is all jammed up and the machine is groaning only to discover that you have reached the end of your bobbin PLUS the spool on the top is almost done too so you can't fill another bobbin and when you go to find more thread you realise you don't have that colour so you freak out and walk away and --- breathe................................

Binding in place and ready to be sewn on... just need some more thread! |
Yup - I was on the home stretch to get the binding on last night and I ran out of thread well after the shops had shut. This Scrappy Stash log cabin quilt has already used 2 and a half spools of thread and I never imagined I would go through that much so I was definitely caught unprepared! So now I will have to go get thread after work tonight and rush home and sew the binding on then hand sew the back of the binding [which I love to do]. Then I can say it is finished and link it to the linky party - but it remains a WiP right now though. Drat - I had other sewing I needed to do tonight [overdue Bee blocks].

Another section of the scrappy binding with some Summersville backing showing. |
Fingers crossed I can get it all done on time.
Linking to
WiP Wednesday.

I hate when that happens! I ran out of some quilting thread and then I couldn't find it anywhere! Finally I visited a Jo-Anne I'd never been to and they had 2 spools so I snagged them both! I only hope it is enough to finish the project that I had to put away when I ran out 5 months ago. :D
That is annoying but at least you have the pleasure of hand stitching the binding tonight (I like that part too). Di x
grrr - that is so annoying!!
so frustrating!
At least it was just that you were out of thread and not the machine being broken!
That is annoying and also when you go through your dozens and dozens of spools and you don't have another!
After having that happen a couple of times, I now have what you might call an "oversupply" issue with thread. At least I probably won't (ever) run out! Looking forward to seeing your finished quilt! I am scared of bees and quiltalongs because of the deadlines - yikes!
Ohh how can you run out of thread .. ohh my - I mean I know how it feels when the spool is empty just a few inches from the end - but I can't imagine when you have no thread at all left .. arghh must be frustrating ... Hope you found some time to go shopping today.
That's so annoying! But it's looking lovely and it'll be finished soon :)
Feeling the frustration ...hope all resolved tonight.
Ahhh yes, I can sympathize, last week I ran completely out of, of all colors, white!
