I am in two Block of the Month sew-alongs. I figured they would be a great way to practise my paper piecing skills and a block or two a month is a great pace.
The first is 'And Sew On' and is a paper piecing all to do with sewing. The patterns are by the very clever and talented Kristy of Quiet Play. Here are the first three blocks:
The second BOM is called 'Lucky stars' and is with the lovely Elizabeth of Don't Call me Betsy. Here are the four blocks (Jan, Feb, March plus a bonus block):
I know they don't coordinate. I doubt they will all end up in one quilt together anyway since I have already used my January block - it went into the Doll Quilt 13 mini quilt that I made. This mini quilt was a lot of fun to make.
The other three blocks have not been made into anything YET. I think I may make a couple drawstring bags like Di did with her orphan blocks.
So there is my update on the two BOM's that I am in. I am happy to say that the Lucky Stars BOM was one of my 1st Quarter FAL goals and I managed to keep up!
