If you are looking for my Sew Mama Sew ~ Happy Birthday Giveaway then press HERE!

A HUGE thank you to all of my new (and old alike) followers - you are so kind to join me in the shenanigans that I get up to!  Welcome!  Also, I am so happy so many people have entered my Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day giveaway!!  Thank you and luck be with you!  :)

My WiP list got smaller this past week [see last week's post here to see what I crossed off].  I finished Siblings Together quilt, my "Play" mini quilt [keep scrolling down to read about it today!], and I also crossed another small project off my list (Needle Book/case and Play mini) to link up to crazy mom quilts and the Small Projects Sew Along.  And I am so pleased to tell you that I finally cut "My Precious" fabric and sewed 25 bocks together to make my Triple Treat Petite quilt in yummy Amy Butler fabrics [sewing the finished blocks together into a quilt top is a new one to my WiP list!].

So as you can see, it was another busy week.  Still have lots and lots that I want to do and need to do but  hey - I finished a quilt and started another so I am quite happy!!

Left to right from top down:  Siblings Together quilt, Siblings Together quilt folded,
'Play' mini quilt, Triple Treat Petite blocks in Amy Butler Love,

In other news:
On Sunday 13th May, the second wave of members from the London Modern Quilt Guild made their way to Lu Summers' [her blog is here] studio to do a printmaking workshop of personalised labels.  We had such a great time and printed some fabulous labels!  There were nine of us in total, including Lu, and we giggled, printed, ironed, ate and laughed our way through the day.  Lu is amazing and so down to earth - and FUNNY!   The day went by way too quickly and was a lot of fun.  Thank you Lu for a fab day and thank you Annie for organising it all!!

I made quite a few different coloured 'care' labels and I have already sewn this one on to my Siblings Together quilt - yay!

Here is Lucie showing us how much ink to add and how to print our label.

Here is a picture of a happy bunch of 'printmakers'!!

Lucie even let us use some of her other screens to print with - how lovely is that!!?  Watch this space to see what I create with these pieces of fabric!
Raspberry red flowers - yum!

And I picked up my order of Summersville while I was there too.  Yummy.

NO I didn't buy ALL of this.. but some :)

And finally, here is my Queen of Diamonds!  Last weekend I was busy making my mini quilt for Sew Happy Geek's "Play - A mini quilt competition".  Here is what my finished 'playing card' looks like:

Hand sewing - love the outlined diamond detail in yummy red embroidery thread!
Size: approx 11x13, three layers, four where the applique is.
SewHappyGeek Play ButtonI love how it turned out.  I did needle-turn applique, hand stitching, used invisible thread for the first time (yay I tried another new thing!!) and I did some fussy cutting to get those queen heads on there.  My diamond criss-cross quilting is my favourite bit of the whole thing - the texture it creates is wonderful!!  I also love my hand stitched red thread diamonds too!  The 'recyler' in me was able to use a piece of fabric for the back which was leftover from the Siblings Together quilt (white with pale yellow spots/dots).

  9. Amazing Queen of Diamonds! All the little details really make it come together, especially the diamond quilting and the hand-stitched diamond accents. Great finish! Thank you for linking up!
