March month in review:
I had a fun March full of sewing and crafting. Fingers crossed April is as good or BETTER! |
Here is a mosaic (now that I know how to make them!!) of all the things I made in March (desserts not included)!! It's nice to 'look back' so I can see what I accomplished and to perhaps inspire and encourage me to do more. Two quilt tops finished - I'm happy with that. Now to do the quilting part... Wish I was as enthusiastic about that part! I have more pottery to show than this but they are either still in the kiln or waiting to be glazed - so they will end up being April or May finishes.
I am linking up with Lily's Quilts for Fresh Sewing Day. Be sure to check out all the other blogs who have linked up. Some amazing people - and quilts - out there!
Thank you to all the generous blogs that held Blog Hop Party competitions in March. I entered quite a few with the hopes that I may win and I did! I won a Triangle Confusion quilt pattern from Candace over at The Double Nickle Quilt Challenge blog. Many thanks to you :)
Best of all though, are the non-tangible things that I feel I accomplished in March. I stepped out of my comfort zone, tried several new things (including pressed open seams) with my sewing and on the computer with the blog and with photos, and have joined in with a few things that I hope will challenge me (and my sewing skills) over the next few months. March was a great month. And after today, April looks set to be a FAB month!!
Aneela Hoey and I - London, 1st April 2012 |
Why, you may ask? Well, today at our LMQG meeting (held at Tricolette Yarns), Aneela Hoey 'popped' in! Wow - how cool is that?? And what a lovely surprise for us! She designs amazing fabric for Moda (Sherbert Pip, Walk in the Woods) and blogs over at comfortstitching. FYI - she'll be teaching the embroidery class at the Fat Quarterly Community Retreat in London so you can meet her there! Here is a (blurry) photo of the two of us :) Yay! And another great thing today was that Danielle got us all trying our hand at English Paper Piecing. I shall let you know how I get on with making my hand-pieced pencil case.
So, I think in sum, all of these great March and 1st of April things added together means that April will be full of lovely surprises and hopefully lots of happinesses (happiness in plural)!
Monday tomorrow. What delights will it bring? See you later!
[P.S. Thank you Annie of The Village Haberdashery for bringing my order today and for the super yummy extras you kindly put in. THEY ROCK!! It made me smile when you said I was your 'best' customer!! hehehe Also thank you to Michael for my Tricolette bag today - it made my trip to the Ideal Home Show easier to carry all the fabric I bought from you and Annie!!]
Love the mosaic! You've made some great things! Cant't wait to see what you get up to in April! Are you going tot he Fat Quarterly retreat?? =D
