My Precious QAL - Update

Yummy fabric...my precccious fabric...

Used them all except for the bottom one which will be used for the back and binding probably.

A little while ago I decided I should join in with Kelby Sews' My Precious Quilt Along because I had not one - but two piles of hoarded fabric that I just couldn't cut in to!  After this pile of fabric sat in the drawer for, well, forever, I thought that maybe I would make a quilt using huge diamond shapes in these yummy Amy Butler Love fabrics.  The idea was vetoed when I bought a pattern book which had a great pattern in it which used rectangles - so I plucked up the courage and cut it!

So as you can see here, these are the yummy strips that I cut, all lined up and ready to sew.

Result - I love it!  I'm happy that I went with this pattern and love the way the colours of the fabric go together.  Rectangles are definitely me :)  I've made 25 blocks and laid them out in a 5x5 grid.  The pattern I used was from the "Happy Hour" pattern book and is called Triple Treat Petite and was so easy.  I'm glad it was easy otherwise I would have hemmed and hawed too much and not got anything done!

Ahh... what a relief to be done cutting it and sewing the blocks together!  I will finish sewing the top together this weekend, with luck!  And one of the best bits is that I still have some scraps to play with!!  Yum :)  I'm linking this beauty up to Kelby Sews' My Precious QAL.

  7. Oh it is just gorgeous! Love the fabrics and the pattern.

And I completely understand you not wanting to cut it. I feel the same about some of my fabric, but I am trying to overcome that and am starting to really get into my stash.
