Hello and welcome to Day 6 of the UR Priceless blog hop!! We have all been making lovely coin purses!! If you are new to my blog - WELCOME!! I hope you stay and have a look around! There may even be a giveaway at the bottom!
A big thank you to Madame Samm for such a fun pattern with pictorial instructions, and to Katherine for all her cheer leading and time spent getting us all organised! The hardest part was definitely finding the correct frame. I wanted silver but they don't seem to do silver sew-in frames, so I settled with an antique-look sew-in as my seams were quite thick so they wouldn't fit into the silver glue-in frame I also purchased. DMC floss worked a treat to sew it in.
A silver frame would have suited my fabrics better don't you think? I used some fun Laurie Wisbrun chair fabric with some Kona for the outside of the coin purse. For the interior, I used Summersville by Lucie Summers. I love these colours together - fresh and happy!

What a cute little purse. I think the frame looks great with your fabric.Where did you find/buy it? I'd really love to give this pattern a try. This Christmas I'm making two zippered pouches. Depending on time there might be more. My son returns from deployment in Afghanistan this month so we're helping our DIL and grandson get moved and settled before the happy day arrives!
Thank you for your giveaway and a chance to win. I'm also a new follower.

Love the coin purse, something I have never made....yet. I am busy making lap quilts and potholders, Christmas stockings and baby quilts. I start my sewing time with 2 blocks a charity quilt slowly using some of my stash to make room for new arrivals.
I'm knitting a shawl for my Mum but it's not necessarily for Christmas, she will just get it when it is done!
What a lovely purse! Since we don't celebrate Christmas over here, in The Netherlands, I've been sewing for some Christmas swaps and I might make myself another purse ;-)
Love the purse you have made - lovely materials. Thanks for sharing.
That is a cute little purse. I'm making a table runner, place mats, zippy purses, pencil cases.... If I have enough time! Di x
Christmas sewing - 2 quilts (for the sisters) and a skirt (for a friend), an advent calendar (for me) - ok that's pre-christmas sewing
Love your purse the frame is beautiful. I am knitting cowls for Christmas presents.
Love the purse as it is. I'm making one baby quilt, knitting a cowl for my daughter, and a QAYG knitting bag for a friend. Probably won't have enough time to make any more than this!

cute little purse, maybe we don't see too well but the handle looks fine. I'm working on some potholders and maybe slippers for Christmas. Of course if I finish my quilts they will be under the tree too lol
So cute. Its a great job. Thanks for sharing
I think your purse is beautiful just as it is! I am working on coin purses -- even though I don't know where they'll end up (they're addictive!), and on a small 'throw' quilt for my brother. I am thinking of trying to make an evening-type clutch for my girls, even though I'm not sure if my first efforts will be good enough to gift.
I'm loving all the coin purses I'm seeing from everyone. It's really making me want to try my hand at making some coin purses for christmas gifts (my sister would love a lorax print coint purse!).
For gifts this year I'm trying to make my sister a grinch/lorax quilt (grinch on one side, lorax on the other). I'd also like to make her a grinch christmas stocking.
Good Morning , how sweet of a coin purse...and what will I be doing till the end of the year...wellll I can
t tell you just yet...it is a surprise...wink

I'm not sure yet what I will make for gifts! (I'm a little behind!)
Hi!!! Love it!!! I love the blue and green!!!! Thanks for the fun!!!
What a sweet purse!
I'm not making anything this Christmas. This year has been rather trying, for all sorts of reasons, and I just don't have the mental energy to deal with sewing to a deadline at the moment.
Thanks for the lovely giveaway! I do love me some scraps :)
Your purse looks great, but I understand the frustration when you can't quite make reality match your vision. I am planning to make loyalty card wallets, key fobs and pouches for small Christmas presents. Thanks so much for sharing your creativity and for the chance to win these delightful goodies!
The coin purse is so cute. Thanks for sharing. I am making some free-standing lace Xmas ornaments for little gifts to give away. Thanks for the opportunity on the draw.

Hi Amy! I'm making a duffle bag for my younger niece, some pot holders for my sister, a purse for my cousin, a mugrug for my husband (I'm really tired of hearing his wooden coaster hit the floor when it sticks to his cup!), and a "mondo" pillow via one of the Sew, Mama, Sew tuturials from last week. :) I'm sure I'll decide to make some other stuff as well, if time doesn't get me! lol

I'm also making pajamas for my daughter, grandson, husband and someone else.
Fresh and happy perfectly describes your delightful coin purse, Amy! I know what you mean about the silver frame, but I still like the fancy one you used.

I am making my son a stocking, I finished all the stitching, I started in April and worked daily on a counted cross-stitch design from 1993. I still need to sew it up. I'm also making my husband his own quilt b/c I'm terrible about hogging the covers.
Fawn
Sweet little purse. I am a follower. I am trying to make a bed quilt for my Mom.
Thanks for sharing and the opportunity to win.
I think your little purse is just perfect.
thanks for the giveaway and for sharing.
Lovely coin purse! What will I be making? I am aiming to make 2 table runners, a pouch, and a laptop cover/carrier. Will I get this all done? I highly doubt it!
I feel like my sewing list could be put to the Twelve Days of Christmas and sung...I'm making bags for my daughter to give her middle school friends, flannel jammies for the girls, a Christmas quilt, several zipper make-up style bags, and I'm trying to decide which other gifts I can make and help our somewhat slim budget out by using what I can. The great thing is that my family and friends love receiving homemade gifts so it's wonderful to work with an appreciative audience! (Oh, and these aren't sewing but jam and English toffee, too!) pbstrand@msn.com
I like your coin purse, and I think the frame looks fine. For Christmas I am making mug rugs, wall hangings, and other bits and pieces. Thank you for the giveaway.
GREAT purse! I've just bought the pattern on the strength of it!!
I've just started working on a fabric santa, plus I plan to make one of my granddaughters an apron and some kid size oven gloves, as she's a really keen cook and only 10, bless her. If I have enough time I then plan to make THE PURSE for my daughter and all 3 granddaughters, and maybe even a skirt for the Christmas tree. Not much to do then!! Lol.
Judi
Love it! Make sure you add it to Laurie Wisburn's flickr page--she'll want others to see this beauty!

Your blue and green purse is so wonderful I love chairs :-D
I adore the fabric you chose.
Well... Christmas projects *sigh* I am so behind in everything. I may just do gift cards this year :-( I know that is lame, but I will put them in some of these purses I made!! yay
I love what you have for a give away!! I love the fabric and the zippers!!
Thank you for sharing your creativity
Beautiful purses. Thanks for having a give away.
I am making travel pillows and want to make some of these little purses also.
I'm feeling selfish this year. I don't have a sewing machine, so everything takes ages, and then my sister announced she was pregnant earlier this year and I put my quilt on hold for 4 months while I sewed a quilt for my new niece. I'm planning on sewing a few more bibs for the baby, but otherwise I want to sew stuff to brighten up the unfurnished flat I'm about to move into. I'm going from renting a room in a shared house to having lots of space to decorate with fabric, and it's going to be a while til I can afford enough furniture!
I make ornaments every year and this year my mother in law will get a cross stitched lighthouse.
I do love your little purse; fabrics and colors are wonderful. I have a Christmas stocking and a pirate hat (for a grandchild) to make. Usually I make lots more but this year I had other projects in the works.
