- 12 blocks (a variety of bee blocks, block of the month blocks and some secret sewing)
- 3 pin cushions
- 1 GINORMOUS quilt backing for King Kong Wonky
- 1 Doll quilt
- 1 Triple Zip pouch
- 1 needle case and
- 1 neckerchief
And we are now past the half way point for the Lovely Year of Finishes February goal and I am halfway through having that finished too.... but it isn't "FINISHED" yet.
With thanks to Charlotte, it is now 505-basted and waiting for me to quilt it. We basted it on her design wall (a new technique to me) which meant we did not hurt our knees. She really is the most cleverererest person I know!
That is all I can report on the Mod Sampler. I'm so pleased the hard part is done -- I hate the basting! Question - how should I quilt this? And place your bets on me getting it finished in the next 11 days (quilting and binding)!

Wow! I love it! I'm terrible at deciding how to quilt so I have no suggestions, I will say that I usually end up shadow/echo quilting most everything - but then I'm boring.
I love 505 spray! Although I've only ever done a little quilt with it. I would probably need someone clever like Charlotte to help me do a lovely big one like this! Can't wait to see it all quilted up - and of course I believe you will do it in the next 11 days!
you can do it!!!!!!!
I like your quilt so much that I used it on today's Sunday Quilt Inspiration post. I hope that's okay! Of course, I gave you credit and added a link to your great blog.
Mary
I've always loved your mod sampler...hope to see it soon
Oh you can definitely do it, now you've got it basted, that's one of the hardest bits! Looks fab by the way. : )
Woo hoo for 505 spray and Charlotte's design wall ;-) No idea on the quitling but I have faith you wil get it done x
i haven't done the 505 thing yet. Now quilt that beast!
Very nice! 11 days? Yes, you can definitely do it. I'm afraid I don't have many suggestions though... I usually end up doing straight lines. :-)
I was glad to read that you dislike basting - me too! Just a question, do you only spray baste, or use pins (or something else!) too? I just finished quilting (FMQ) a quilt and I don't think my basting was good enough (I had a few puckers in the top). I sprayed and used curved pins (though admittedly I could have put in a few more pins - they were about 4 inches apart). Should this have been good enough? Perhaps I'm pulling on the quilt too much when I quilt? Any suggestions? I'll search your blog for any posts on basting and quilting!
Wow you have been busy. Have never used 505 but it sounds interesting. Can't wait to see the finished quilt.
Cheers Pauline
You certainly have been productive! Way to go.
